USING OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAS
Certain problems arise on our web site when we show pictures taken with Olympus digital cameras.
The problem appears in our Winners Galleries, and all our web pages. It affects Digital submissions and digital copies of pictures from Print competitions.
The following information explains the issue and the steps needed to resolve it.
How the Winners Galleries Should Look and Work
Pictures in the “grid” display, have no captions.
Clicking on any picture starts the slide show.
Each slide shows:
The Award, the Winner, and Title, for example:
“Digital A 1st – Joe Member – picture.jpg”
Technical details (camera model, f-stop, shutter speed, etc).
How It Looks With Olympus Cameras
In the “grid” display “OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA” appears below the picture.
In the slide show, the Award, Winner and Title do not appear.
Little, or no, technical details appear or are scrambled.
Why It Is Important
The winner’s name does not appear anywhere. He/she is anonymous.
The “grid” display is inconsistent and looks sloppy.
No technical details are available about the Olympus pictures.
What To Do
Neither the Webmaster nor the Competition Chairs have control over these issues.
It is the responsibility of Olympus owners to prevent this from happening.
Olympus owners can change their camera settings to prevent this from happening. The instructions should be in the camera’s manual. Failing that, another member may be able to help.
We will sincerely appreciate your cooperation.
